About Temple Israel Columbus

Jewish Ladies Aid Society

The Jewish Ladies Aid Society plays a vital role in the life of Temple Israel. JLAS helps care for our kitchen, supports the gift shop, and hosts many of our community gatherings.

New JLADS Cookbook now Available!
Jewish Ladies Aid Society presents their new cookbook, Why Do I Need Another Cookbook? – $20. To purchase, contact administrator@templeisraelga.com or 706-323-1617.

Shabbat Dinners

JLAS generally hosts a monthly community Shabbat dinner. JLAS provides the main course, and Temple members contribute side dishes such as vegetables, a starch, and desserts. Dinners conclude with the Birkat HaMazon (Grace After Meals).

Holiday Meals & Events

JLAS also helps organize our community Passover seder, held on the second night of Passover, and supports other holiday celebrations throughout the year. Members are asked to RSVP so we can plan appropriately for food and seating.

Gift Shop & Cookbook

Our gift shop offers a variety of Judaica, including menorahs, candles, and other holiday and lifecycle items.

WNN Celebrating 40 Years!

This year marks the 40th Birthday of the Wynnton Neighborhood Network, with the first ever Board Meeting held on May 20, 1985. At that meeting, a forward-thinking group of men and women, from seven different congregations, sought to pool resources of volunteers, time and money to help those in need.

They started small but their hearts were big. And their work continues today with over 100 volunteers serving clients five days a week helping with both food and utility assistance.

To celebrate, all are invited to participate in the  “$40 for 40 years Campaign.” The goal for the year is ambitious - one year's expenses ($200,000). This campaign started in May of 2025 and will end May 1, 2026. And we hope you can help celebrate with a donation for our future, in a time of increased need. For donation cards, contact your church or synagogue office.

Technology Community

The Technology Committee is looking for friendly, dependable volunteers to help record our services and upload them to YouTube. It’s an easy task, and we’ll show you everything you need to know. All it requires is arriving 10–15 minutes before services and a willingness to help our community stay connected.
